I have enjoyed painting with oils and watercolors for many years.  Only recently have I been able to devote a generous amount of time to painting.  I have studied with Clara Childs, Betty Bonner Carmichael Steele, John Brady, Frank Saunders, Tom Jones, Patt Legg, Marietta Smith and others.

Education:  I graduated from Lee H. Edwards (Asheville) High School,  received a BA in Education (math and Latin) from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a MA from Appalachian State University.  Before retiring I taught high school math and Latin.  I particularly enjoyed teaching geometry.
