Ed Pilegard
I was born in Baldwinsville, New York and raised in Arlington, Virginia and I currently work as a teacher of exceptional children. Primarily self-taught, I was fortunate to be born into a family of artists and musicians. Both my parents were artists who worked in a variety of mediums. In 1977 I was gifted a Pentax 35 mm camera to begin my artistic journey. With an eye for vintage items and rural subjects, my photography has been described as just “splinters and rust.”
Always looking for an interesting image, my subjects are often found in the two Carolinas and Virginia. I currently live in Spencer, North Carolina and work out of a small studio just off Grants Creek.
