“As a plein air painter, I find working on location invigorating.  Dealing with the ever changing light and the elements are surely a challenge, but valuable because nature is always our very best teacher.  Many of my poems are also inspired by the natural world and her creatures.”

“However, I also enjoy working in my spacious and comfortable studio, so I am able to experience the very best of both worlds – indoors and out.  When I work on location, I respond to the quick and spontaneous moment of light, color and energy.  Then when in the studio, I slow down reminded of the basics and fundamentals of the art process.  I feel it is important to work both on location and in the studio, due to the balance and support that one gives the other.”

“I always enjoy the challenge of different subjects, mediums and locations.  As an artist, I am free to choose whatever mediums, tools and procedures that will best express my interpretation of the subject and tell the story.  I continually seek to create art that will nourish and bless my own soul and spirit, as well as that of the viewer.”

“I will not bore you with long lists all my art accomplishments and all the people owning my art, because all that is not so important.  What is important is that I can draw & paint and it’s what I love to do in this life. I have created art all my life but seriously for the last 20 years.”

“My earliest encouragement was when, as a 4th grader, my sister was going on about one of my drawings and my Mother said “But of course, she’s an artist!”   I took off from there and have not stopped creating.”
